At Aloha Foot and Ankle we are always providing the most excellent service with the latest effective technology in podiatric care. One such piece of technology is the newly acquired QClear NdYag laser. This device is most frequently used for destroying fungal nails and warts, as well as other lower extremity soft tissue abnormalities that are ever so bothersome to our feet.

If you have dealt with or are currently afflicted with thickened, discolored, or oddly shaped nails, the term onychomycosis (or fungal nails) is not unfamiliar to you. There are a number of different types of microscopic organisms that can lead to brittle or painful nails in addition to being unsightly. Although there are numerous treatments such as topicals and oral medications, the effectiveness of these modalities of treatment are not very high. Because the environment inside your shoes is frequently ideal for growth of these organisms, disinfection of your shoes, topical medications, oral medications and laser treatments may all be used to correct your nail problem. The battle to cure nail fungus has been tough as treatments are often lengthy and require one or more treatments per day. The new laser technology shortens the treatment time significantly.

The QClear laser uses combined 532 /1064nm wavelengths which are the approved levels needed to destroy that persistent nail fungus with no pain after treatment. With only 30 minutes of treatment time every visit you will see a noticeable difference. The laser is also FDA approved for spider veins, hypertrophic scars, and pigmented lesions.
